When you send me your manuscript, I will check for correct usage of grammar, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling to ensure a spotless novel that's prepared for querying to agents.
When I revise your novel during my process, I will include suggestions for substitutions of word usage or sentence structure, as well as the removal of some words or sentences that disrupt the flow of the sentence or paragraph.
While I was a college student, I worked with literary agents and their intense editing processes, so I know exactly what agents look for in novels. At my local arts university where I earned my Bachelors degree in English with a writing concentration, I was trained specifically to edit, revise, and write fiction and non-fiction pieces.
In addition, I work with magazines and newspapers as a writer and co-editor, and I am a freelance writer and editor for an indie publisher in Charlotte, NC.
As a writer and editor, I know how terrifying it is to send off an unedited manuscript. With that being said, you can trust that I understand all the trials and errors of writing and editing a novel, so you're in good hands here at Elegant Editing.
